CURRICULUM

1st Grade: Reading Comprehension and Fluency, Language Arts, Spelling, & Math
2nd Grade: Reading, Language Arts, Spelling, & Math
3rd through 6th Grade: Reading, Language Arts, Spelling, Math, Science, & Social Studies
7th Grade: Language Arts 7, Math 7 or Pre-Algebra, Science 7, Social Studies 7, & Bible 7
8th Grade: Language Arts 8, Pre-Algebra or Algebra I, Science 8, Social Studies 8, & Bible 8
9th Grade: English I, Algebra I or Plane Geometry, Biology I, Mississippi History, Geography,  Spanish I, Athletic P.E.
10th Grade: English II, Plane Geometry or Algebra II, Human Anatomy & Physiology, World History, Computer I, Elective.
11th Grade: English III, Algebra II, Chemistry, American History, Fine Arts, Computer II/Bible.
12th Grade: English IV, Advanced Math/Trigonometry/Pre-Calculus or Algebra III, Physics or Physical Science, Government/Economics, Dual Enrollment (College Credit) or Intro to General Business

* Students in grades 7-9 will take five (5) subjects and Athletic P.E. If a student does not participate in athletics, he/she will be placed in another class.
* Students in grades 10-11 will take six (6) subjects and Athletic P.E. If a student does not participate in athletics, he/she will be placed in another class.
* Seniors are required to take a minimum of five (5) subjects; more if required for graduation.
* All students in grades 1-8 must pass three (3) of four (4) major subjects to be promoted to the next grade. Two of those must be Math and Language Arts.

COLLEGE RECOMMENDATIONS for SENIORS

English 4 Units – All four units require substantial communication skill components.
Math 4 Units – Includes Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Advanced Math, Trig., Pre-Calculus or Unified Geometry.
Science 4 Units – Includes Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, Physics or Physical Science.
Social Studies 4 Units – Includes MS History, World Geography, World History, American History, American Government/Economics.
Electives Survey of Fine Arts (required for admission to State universities in Mississippi) and Computer Applications.
